FAQs

FAQs

We consider any of the following to be dental emergencies requiring immediate attention:

  • Severe toothache that doesn't respond to painkillers
  • Swelling in the mouth or face (especially with pain or fever)
  • Bleeding that won't stop
  • Knocked-out (avulsed) tooth
  • Broken tooth with pain or sharp edges
  • Lost crown or filling with pain
  • Dental trauma from an accident
  • Signs of infection (pain, swelling, bad taste)

When in doubt, please call us - we'd rather assess you than have you suffer unnecessarily.

We prioritize emergencies based on severity:

  • Immediate threats to life (severe swelling affecting breathing): Seen immediately
  • Severe pain or trauma: Typically within 1 hour
  • Broken teeth without pain: Usually same day
  • Lost fillings/crowns: Same day or next available appointment

Most root canals are completed in one or two appointments. We'll give you a time estimate after your examination.

Absolutely. We specialize in caring for nervous patients and offer several solutions to make your visit more comfortable:

  • The Wand: Computer-controlled anaesthesia system that's virtually painless
  • Calm environment: Soothing clinic design with relaxing elements
  • Patience and understanding: We'll explain everything and go at your pace
  • Sedation options: Available for extremely anxious patients
  • Stop signals: You're always in control - just raise your hand if you need a break

Many of our formerly nervous patients now visit us regularly thanks to our gentle approach.

We accept all major payment methods for emergency dental treatment:

  • Cash
  • Credit/Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Dental insurance (payment required but receipts provided for insurance claim)
  • Interest free payment plans for larger treatments

We'll always discuss costs with you before treatment begins. Emergency examinations start from £75, with treatment costs depending on what's required.
